The best of food, film, and drink, all in one seat… and it’s finally in Midtown Omaha.
Following a year of development, Alamo Drafthouse Midtown opens its doors on Friday, March 1st, kicking off a weeklong “soft” opening that’ll run till the official Grand Opening on Thursday, March 7th. Tickets for the opening slate of programming – which includes screenings of AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR, MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE – FALLOUT, and THE FAVOURITE – are on sale now at drafthouse.com/omaha.
Located in the Midtown Crossing development, the Austin-based cinema’s second location in Omaha features a mix of first-run films and curated specialty programming, premium luxury reclining seats, and a full-service food and drink menu. Alamo Drafthouse Midtown is also home to the second Liquid Sunshine Taproom location, a full bar and restaurant space located on the 2nd floor of the Alamo Drafthouse Midtown building. Liquid Sunshine Taproom offers 24 beer taps, eight of which will be rotating with local and regional brews.
“As a theater and as a brand, we strive to be the best entertainment experience imaginable for the Omaha metro. We do this by providing great food and drinks, exceptional presentation and a finely curated programming calendar,” says Derek Dillon, Alamo Drafthouse Omaha’s Creative Director. “On top of all of that, we’re also proud to be a great community partner for local non-profits, schools, and charities – whether it be celebrating teachers during Spring Break or collecting toy donations over the holidays. Our management team has renovated and created a very special place here, and we’re excited that Midtown Crossing has accepted us into their neighborhood.”
“Alamo Drafthouse Cinema combines everything we want in a retail partner: incredible energy, world-class customer experiences, and real community involvement. Its neighborhood ‘premiere’ is not only going to elevate Midtown Crossing, but it’s also going to accelerate the momentum we’re feeling throughout midtown Omaha,” said Molly Skold, Midtown Crossing’s Vice-President of Marketing and Communications.
Staff training begins during the soft opening period on Friday, March 1st, when hundreds of guests will get their first taste of Alamo Drafthouse Midtown’s full food and beverage menu ordered directly from plush recliner seats. As part of Alamo Drafthouse’s dedication to community partnerships, guests during the opening phase can also add a monetary donation to their online ticket purchases. All funds collected will be donated to the Omaha Public Library Foundation, which partners with Alamo Drafthouse Omaha on the Novel Pictures programming series.
Alamo Drafthouse Midtown features five state-of-the-art auditoriums that range in size from 66 seats to 182 seats, with combined seating for 599 moviegoers. Each theater boasts the top-of-the-line in Sony 4K digital cinema technology and digital sound.
