Dogged in her pursuit of justice, Officer Dawn Pollreis served as a deputy with the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office before joining the Omaha Police Department in 1993. During her almost 20-year career with the Department, the streetwise officer worked in all four quadrants of the city. Her last assignment was in the Criminal Investigations Bureau’s Major Crimes Unit.

Known for being caring and fun, Officer Pollreis died of brain cancer on February 18, 2012, after overcoming a 2009 diagnosis of breast cancer. She is survived by her husband and three children.

HORSE ARTIST  |  BOB DONLAN

Bob has been painting for over thirty-five years and considers this current project to be one of the most rewarding experiences he’s had; both creatively and personally. It has been a privilege for him to use his talents to honor the courageous and important role that police officer’s serve. With two brothers who both had distinguished careers in law enforcement, Bob saw the human side beyond the uniform.

Bob was born and raised in Omaha, Ne. He received his BA. In theatre from the University of Nebraska at Omaha. He went on to get his MFA in design from the University of Kansas. He studied at the Czech Republic in Prague at the renowned Charles University School of Scenography. Bob has shown in various galleries throughout the city over the years. He has participated in many solo and group shows. He is a frequent artist at the Metro Gallery in Lincoln.
