Night Market Pop-up Festival Comes to Turner Park

Continuing its tradition of bringing the new to Omaha’s Turner Park, Midtown Crossing is set to launch its inaugural Turner Park Night Market, an eclectic, energetic, first-of-its-kind event series in Omaha.

The night-time pop-upfestival, which is free, open to the public and dog-friendly, will be held on three Friday nights – May 26, July 28 and September 22 – from 6:00-10:00 p.m. Each Night Market will feature a host of dynamic activities and attractions, including:

  • Vendor Village, featuring 20+ local makers and community (non-profit) booths
  • Moonlight Yoga with Lora McCarville from 9:00-10:00 p.m.
  • Live music by Hear Nebraska artists
  • Mini Food Festival, featuring Midtown Crossing restaurants and a “Skewered” food-on-a-stick theme
  • Giant outdoor games, including new giant chess and checkers, life-size Connect 4 and Jenga, ping-ping and more

While this event is new to Omaha, similarly-styled night markets have grown very popular in cities, including Dallas, Milwaukee, Oklahoma City and Portland, Ore.

“Our goal is to introduce this all-in-one-kind of experience that is active and engaging – music, markets, food and activity all happening in harmony. A lot of our other events have a set start time, and it’s easy to miss the fun, festival-style attractions beforehand. The Night Market turns those events on their head and changes the definition of what a Friday night can be,” said Amanda Lustgraaf, Midtown Crossing’s marketing communication coordinator.
