Omaha, Neb. – With its festival vibe and community focus, Yoga Rocks the Park(YRTP)is set to launch its eighth year in Omaha’s Turner Park and demonstrate, once again, why it isone of Midtown Crossing’s most popular summer traditions.
“We’re constantly asking how our event can serve the greater good and what we at YRTP can do better. As a result, we’re adding a new teaching/workshop element to be announced,” saysLora McCarville, local yoga instructor and YRTP organizer.
An energetic blend of outdoor yoga, live music, and community artists and performers, YRTP is free and open to yoga enthusiasts of all levels. After its May 6 debut, the 2018 season continues every Sunday through June 24.
McCarville says she is energized, year after year, by “the people who come every week, our volunteers, and the vastness of what we can do to connect to our neighbors.”
Admission to YRTP is free, but a $5 donation is suggested each week. A portion of the proceeds will benefit Gift of Sight, an organization dedicated to healing unnecessary blindness locally and globally.
“They do amazing work, locally and globally. To restore the vision of one person, the impact of that in community is immeasurable,” McCarville says.
